About the Role
The Applications Database Administrator will work closely with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams to build and support mission-critical database systems as Business Wire undergoes digital transformation. This role involves defining and supporting new and existing database systems across public cloud and traditional data centers, guiding best practices in database administration, and focusing on automation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Manage the full database lifecycle, including installation, configuration, deployment, operations, upgrades, and management
- →Provide high-end technical DBA support across various operating environments
- →Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability
- →Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle EBS environments
- →Manage EBS concurrent managers, workflows, and patch application
- →Troubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiers
- →Provide expertise in performance tuning and administration
- →Perform DDL and application code reviews
- →Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- →Work with support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues
- →Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of hands-on Oracle and MySQL database experience in a mission-critical 24x7 environment
- ✓Proven experience managing Oracle EBS environments
- ✓Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL
- ✓Experience with full database lifecycle management
- ✓Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
- ✓Understanding of Unix operating systems
