About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join Canva's Product Platform Supergroup. This role focuses on designing and developing shared libraries, frameworks, and tooling that support all Canva product surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- βDevelop shared frontend frameworks and component libraries used by all product teams
- βBuild tools and infrastructure that streamline development workflows and improve code quality
- βIdentify and address frontend performance and scalability challenges
- βCollaborate with design system and product teams to ensure accessibility, consistency, and reliability
- βLead technical design discussions and advocate for frontend best practices
- βMentor engineers and help grow Canvaβs frontend community of practice
Requirements
- β5+ years of experience developing large-scale frontend applications
- βExpertise in Javascript, React, TypeScript, and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, etc.)
- βStrong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimisation, and accessibility
- βExperience building shared frameworks, design systems, or developer tooling
- βExcellent communication and collaboration skills
- βSolid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance trade-offs in browser environments
