About the Role
We are looking for a Workday Platform Engineer to join Canva's Information Technology Supergroup. This role focuses on designing and delivering scalable Workday solutions that align with platform best practices and Canva's unique ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and deliver scalable Workday solutions that align with platform best practices and Canvaβs unique ways of working
- βOwn end-to-end solution design for high-impact system changes β from exploring ideas to validating edge cases and overseeing build and release
- βPartner closely with Product Owners, Workday Analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure designs are technically sound and business-aligned
- βContribute hands-on to complex configuration where needed, and support others in maintaining consistent design quality
- βCollaborate with the broader Workday Platform team to embed strong engineering and release practices into how we work
- βShape the evolution of Canvaβs Workday platform by influencing design patterns, surfacing technical risks, and finding opportunities to simplify
Requirements
- β5+ years of hands-on Workday experience, with depth in modules like HCM, Compensation or Time Tracking
- βExperience with payroll solutions is highly desirable
- βLed at least two end-to-end Workday implementations, navigating complex configuration and cross-functional alignment
- βKnowledge of Workday tools including business processes, condition rules, security groups, and calculated fields
- βExperience designing scalable solutions that balance Workday best practices with evolving business needs
- βStrong communication skills with ability to create quality documentation and guide stakeholders through complex changes
- βExperience working asynchronously across time zones with strong written and stakeholder communication skills
- βExperience with agile methodology and productivity tools
- βHands-on experience using AI in work to drive greater impact
