About the Role
You will join the CMS Experiment Physics Performance and Datasets (PPD) project Technical Support Team, gaining experience in advanced data operations and DevOps practices at the frontier of science and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- →Operate, maintain, and improve multiple tools to maintain high service availability during data taking, monitoring, and analysis
- →Work with CMS scientists to support operations, assist with development, and define new feature requirements
- →Collaborate with software, database, and IT experts to integrate tools with community support
- →Develop, deploy, and maintain services for a large user community
- →Contribute to the production process from technical design to user support
Requirements
- ✓Programming experience
- ✓Experience with database management and operation
- ✓Experience with software management, continuous integration, and deployment
- ✓Proficiency in both Python and C++
- ✓Oracle Database knowledge
- ✓Knowledge of Machine Learning is considered a plus
- ✓Knowledge of High Energy Physics is considered a plus
- ✓Strong team collaboration and communication skills
- ✓Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French
- ✓Eligibility criteria apply, including being a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State with a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation.
