About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to captain weekend operations as the technical anchor for the 5th Shift. This role ensures production of high-temperature superconducting magnets continues safely and efficiently when the weekday engineering team is offline in a First-of-a-Kind manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Provide technical mentorship and training to technicians on high-precision operations
- →Troubleshoot non-conformance issues in real-time and escalate critical problems appropriately
- →Act as the feedback loop between weekend execution and weekday Design and Manufacturing teams
- →Maintain production line rhythm and ensure seamless shift hand-offs
- →Red-line work instructions and drive change requests for vague or impossible processes
Requirements
- ✓BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- ✓Minimum 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
- ✓Proficient with NX (CAD) and Teamcenter (PLM)
- ✓Experience tracking issues and production in Jira, Slack, and Odoo or similar ERP systems
- ✓Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- ✓Perform activities like typing, standing, stooping, and sitting for extended periods
- ✓Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics
- ✓Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓8+ years of experience in high-complexity assembly
- ✓Experience with insulation systems similar to electric motor industry
- ✓Knowledge of statistical process control and failure modes and effects analysis
