Salary Range

$175,000 - $240,000 /year

About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Technical Project Manager to join our Project Management Office. This role will drive our next-generation High-Temperature Superconducting magnet systems and requires proven experience delivering first-of-a-kind complex projects from concept to production ramp-up.

Key Responsibilities

→Act as the primary technical liaison with executive team, internal engineering teams, and external suppliers
→Understand and manage technical tradeoffs between design, manufacturing, and scientific teams
→Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, goals, deliverables, resources, and timeline
→Lead cross-functional teams composed of engineers, designers, analysts, and procurement specialists
→Monitor project timelines rigorously and identify potential delays with mitigation strategies
→Lead active management of risks throughout the project lifecycle
→Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
→Support resolution of schedule conflicts

Requirements

✓Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with PMP or other Project Management certification
✓15+ years of technical experience with minimum 10 years leading development of large-scale magnet systems or similar electromechanical systems
✓Proven project management experience including scope definition, schedule management, risk management, budget management, and stakeholder management
✓Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mobilize multi-disciplinary teams
✓Excellent communication skills adaptable to various levels of technical proficiency
✓Willingness to travel when required or work nights/weekends/on-call
✓Ability to perform activities like typing, stooping, climbing, standing, or sitting for extended periods
✓Ability to work in facility with industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, and cryogenics
