About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Construction to lead operations of existing facilities and oversee construction of new facilities. This role involves strategic planning and tactical operation of facilities to support company growth, managing a team of professionals and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

→Own day-to-day operation of existing facilities in Devens, MA and Somerville, MA including building maintenance and employee services
→Develop long-term strategic plans for campus expansion and future sites to support company growth
→Lead planning, design, budgeting, procurement, and execution of major capital projects including new factory construction
→Lead all space planning efforts for office and factory space needs
→Engage with local and state officials for permitting, compliance, infrastructure upgrades, and parking solutions
→Develop maintenance strategies and implement data-driven reliability programs for equipment and facilities
→Manage internal team of facilities technicians, electricians, project managers, and space planners
→Manage external collaborators including contractors, real estate brokers, developers, and architects
→Project manage design of new facilities with cross-functional teams
→Develop and manage multi-million-dollar budget for facilities projects
→Create detailed facilities plans and presentations for executive leadership

Requirements

✓Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
✓5+ years' experience as director level or above in facilities, maintenance, and/or construction roles
✓Direct experience with building new industrial facilities larger than 200,000 square feet and over $100M in project cost
✓Experience managing a team size of 25+ people
✓Experience developing strategic plans for facilities and infrastructure to support long-term company growth
✓In-depth knowledge of building systems and industrial equipment maintenance best practices
✓Project management experience working with internal customers and external vendors
✓Strong financial acumen with ability to manage budgets over $100M
✓Demonstrated leadership, teambuilding, and mentoring skills
✓Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
✓Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
✓Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making
✓Flexible thinking and ability to pivot when faced with challenges
✓Proficiency with writing and presenting executive presentations
✓Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
✓Perform activities such as stooping, climbing, typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods
✓Willingness to occasionally travel or work nights/weekends/on-call
✓Work in facility with industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, and cryogenics
