About the Role
The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Programmer to join our team at Eugene McCray Community Center. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing various recreational and educational programs for community members of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, educational, leisure, athletic programs, Senior programs, and life skill development community programs and events
- →Create, coordinate and market community center recreational, educational, leisure, athletic programs and operations
- →Coordinate assigned activities with outside agencies and the general public
- →Maintain inventory controls and conduct surveys to monitor the overall effectiveness of center programs and events
- →Hire staff and participate in the training and motivation of subordinate community center personnel
- →Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for community events and programs
- →Work with youth involved in the afterschool program, school break camps, and summer day camp
- →Develop and implement mentorship programs aimed at providing guidance, support, and life skills to at-risk youth
- →Heavy public and phone contact
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
- ✓Two (2) years of experience in community center service or recreational programming experience
- ✓Valid Driver’s license
- ✓Must pass physical and drug test
- ✓Proficient skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications
- ✓Able to create marketing materials and experience using social media
- ✓Experience developing, implementing and evaluating youth needs to create programs that provide character development
- ✓Possess or have the ability to obtain certifications in Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid
- ✓Certified Park & Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification
