About the Role
The Department of Small Business Services (SBS) seeks a Budget Analyst to analyze and implement the agencyβs budget and revenue activities. This position reports to the Budget Director and requires independent judgment and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- βWork closely with the Budget Unit to ensure agency goals and policies are met
- βReview and analyze expense and revenue budgets, making recommendations for planning and corrective actions
- βConduct analyses on program efficiencies in financial resource use
- βForecast expenditures and perform financial analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end projections
- βImplement financial operations and transactions for personnel and non-personnel activities
- βManage financial records to support decision-making and audit reviews
- βProcess Financial Plan and Budget plan reconciliation & variance reports
- βAnalyze and process Monthly Spending Plan, Monthly Variance, and Monthly Headcount reports
- βReconcile budget and headcount from various data systems
- βReview purchase requests and process budget modifications
- βComplete job responsibilities professionally, resolving requests and providing assistance
Requirements
- βStrong financial analysis and budget planning skills
- βExperience with data systems and financial reporting
- βAbility to forecast expenditures and perform financial analysis
