About the Role
The Kings County District Attorneyβs Office (KCDA) is seeking a Spanish-English Interpreter to work in the Grand Jury Bureau. This role involves interpreting between English and Spanish in various court settings and translating documents and recordings.
Key Responsibilities
- βInterpret between English and Spanish in the Grand Jury and other settings
- βInterpret for victims, witnesses, and defendants in court proceedings
- βTranslate various materials including documents and audio/video recordings
- βPerform consecutive interpreting in question-and-answer situations
- βPerform simultaneous interpreting during proceedings
- βPerform sight translating of documents
Requirements
- βMust have passed the Written Test and Oral Performance Language Assessment by the New York State Unified Court System
- βMust be able to interpret between English and Spanish
- βPreferred: Two years of full-time paid experience in professional interpreting and translating
- βAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
