About the Role
The Azure Engineer is a hands-on technical role within the Advanced Support Team responsible for Tier 2/3 escalation support, incident response leadership, and long-term service stability for Managed Services customers. This role serves as the highest technical escalation point for complex Azure-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- →Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation resource for Managed Services customers
- →Act as the technical lead during high-severity incidents, coordinating response efforts
- →Participate in on-call rotation, providing after-hours incident response
- →Lead real-time troubleshooting during incidents
- →Communicate directly with customers during incidents
- →Ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions
- →Own technical direction and architecture for Azure-based environments
- →Perform Azure Well Architected Reviews
- →Design and validate Azure infrastructure solutions
- →Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop environments
- →Define disaster recovery and resiliency strategies
- →Identify architectural risks and recommend remediation
- →Design, implement, and govern Infrastructure as Code
- →Establish and enforce IaC standards and practices
- →Promote automation-first approaches
- →Provide technical guidance to AST engineers
Requirements
- ✓5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud technologies
- ✓Advanced expertise across Azure services
- ✓Microsoft Azure Administrator certification
- ✓Experience in a Tier 3 escalation or advanced support role
- ✓Ability to lead incident response efforts
- ✓Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop solutions
- ✓Experience with disaster recovery and resiliency solutions
- ✓Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code
- ✓Strong automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI
- ✓Experience with IT service management tools
- ✓Bachelor's degree or higher education diploma
- ✓Experience working for a Managed Services Provider
- ✓Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments
- ✓Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID and identity governance
- ✓ITIL Foundation certification
- ✓Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification
- ✓Azure specialty certifications
- ✓Commitment to maintaining current Azure certifications
