About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Creator Platform team at Dailymotion. The Creator Platform is central to our organization, designing and developing tools and services that enable creators to succeed across the Dailymotion ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs that power creator features on Dailymotion
- →Work with our primarily Python stack, including legacy PHP systems in monolithic and microservices architectures
- →Solve complex technical challenges around video processing, content management, creator workflows, and platform scalability
- →Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing technical excellence, creator needs, and business objectives
- →Produce clear and complete technical specifications to facilitate engineering team collaboration
- →Be highly responsive in communications, answering questions quickly, providing regular updates, and keeping stakeholders informed
- →Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and learning from others
- →Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that others can understand and evolve
- →Champion engineering best practices including testing, documentation, observability, and operational excellence
Requirements
- ✓Experience with Python and PHP
- ✓Knowledge of backend development, APIs, and both monolithic and microservices architectures
- ✓Understanding of video processing, content management, and platform scalability
- ✓Ability to make architectural decisions balancing technical excellence, creator needs, and business objectives
- ✓Experience with technical documentation and engineering best practices
