About the Role
Flexport is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Commerce and Finance organization. You will develop tools that revolutionize end-to-end cost tracking across Ocean, Air, and Trucking logistics, ensuring procurement contracts are digitized and centrally available for optimized decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- →Architect the Cost Library: Scale the central hub that captures all global costs and pushes that critical data to Finance and Billing systems.
- →Digitize Global Procurement: Build tools that turn complex contracts into digital data, eliminating manual workflows and providing "single source of truth" visibility.
- →Collaborate with business partners, product managers, and operations teams to distill complex business problems into elegant technical solutions.
- →Ship Rapidly: Join a close-knit engineering team that ships to production dozens of times per day.
- →Own Quality: Obsess over metrics and high-quality bars, applying key learnings from post-mortems to ensure system reliability.
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong engineering background.
- ✓2+ years of experience in system design and architecture, including familiarity with OOA/OOD and design patterns.
- ✓Proficiency in modern programming languages, particularly Java, Kotlin, and Ruby on Rails.
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- ✓A "bias for action" and an aptitude for learning quickly.
