About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Accountant to join a growing Finance department within one of the UK’s leading multi-brand retailers. This is a dynamic role with opportunities for professional development and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

→Identify if new leases signed by the business are IFRS16 applicable and account for these within the lease accounting system
→Identify modifications/disposals on existing leases and make required adjustments within the lease accounting system
→Reconcile between the lease accounting system and the property database
→Identify lease payments in accounts which need to be reversed under IFRS16
→Report on IFRS 16 within the Group team monthly
→Liaise with internal stakeholders in the property department around lease queries
→Liaise with External Auditors on audit queries during year-end audit
→Integrate new business acquisitions which may hold leases under IFRS16
→Prepare forecasts in line with Group requirements
→Process impairments within the lease accounting system when required
→Provide guidance and coaching to the part qualified financial accountant who owns fixed assets
→Oversee month end processes for capex additions and depreciation
→Review reconciliations performed for each entity
→Oversee year end processes and year end audit
→Prepare the impairment model for the Group
→Scenario plan across a matrix of assumptions
→Own the accounting of the Group’s property valuations and impairment accounting
→Liaise with internal and external advisors on property valuations
→Review forecasts and variances throughout the year
→Own the audit process of investment property accounting
