ABOUT US
Gimlet Labs is building the first heterogeneous neocloud for AI workloads.
As AI systems scale, the industry is hitting fundamental limits in power, capacity, and cost with todayβs homogeneous, vertically integrated infrastructure. Gimlet addresses this by decoupling AI workloads from the underlying hardware. Our platform intelligently partitions workloads into components and orchestrates each component to hardware that best fits its performance and efficiency needs. This approach enables heterogeneous systems across multi-vendor and multi-generation hardware, including the latest emerging accelerators. These systems unlock step-function improvements in performance and cost efficiency at scale.
On top of this foundation, Gimlet is building a production-grade neocloud for agentic workloads. Customers use Gimlet to deploy and manage their workloads through stable, production-ready APIs, without having to reason about hardware selection, placement, or low-level performance optimization.
Gimlet works with foundation labs, hyperscalers, and AI native companies to power real production workloads built to scale to gigawatt-class AI datacenters.
MISSION
Gimlet Labs is hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to build the teams that will define our core infrastructure. This is not a generalist role. You will focus on some of the hardest to hire profiles in the industry: kernel, compiler, and low-level systems engineer. You are expected to operate with deep domain understanding and high ownership.
You will partner directly with founders and engineering leadership to identify, engage, and close exceptional talent in niche and highly competitive markets. Success in this role requires strong technical intuition, disciplined execution, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining a consistently high hiring bar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own full-cycle recruiting for highly specialized technical roles, particularly in kernel, compiler, and low-level systems domains
- Develop a clear understanding of role requirements and translate them into targeted sourcing and evaluation strategies
- Identify and engage top talent through direct sourcing, network development, and market mapping
- Build and maintain high-quality pipelines for niche technical areas with limited candidate supply
- Run efficient, high-signal interview processes in partnership with engineering leadership
- Advise hiring managers on talent market dynamics, candidate quality, and closing strategies
- Drive urgency and accountability across the hiring process without compromising bar
- Continuously improve recruiting processes to increase signal, speed, and consistency
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in technical recruiting, with a strong track record of hiring for highly specialized engineering roles
- Direct experience hiring for kernel, compiler, or similarly low-level systems roles (required)
- Deep understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and the ability to assess technical profiles at a high level
- Proven ability to source and close passive candidates in competitive and niche talent markets
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience partnering with senior technical leaders
- Excellent communication, organization, and execution skills
- Ability to operate independently and drive results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience hiring for AI infrastructure, distributed systems, or high-performance computing roles
- Background working in high-growth startups or deeply technical organizations
- Track record of building or scaling recruiting functions or processes
- Strong network within systems, compiler, or adjacent low-level engineering communities
