About the Role
The Cloud Engineering team at Grindr is seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of cloud engineers responsible for core infrastructure and platform services. This role will play a key part in improving reliability, security, cost efficiency, and developer experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead, coach, and grow a team of 4–5 cloud engineers responsible for core infrastructure and platform services
- →Own the execution and delivery of cloud initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
- →Partner closely with product, backend, mobile, SRE, and security teams to ensure infrastructure enables product delivery
- →Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions across AWS, Kubernetes, and supporting cloud services
Requirements
- ✓Experience managing and developing engineers, including performance management, feedback, and career growth
- ✓Strong hands-on background with cloud infrastructure, preferably in AWS, including managed services and networking concepts
- ✓Experience operating production systems at scale using Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
- ✓Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- ✓Experience balancing reliability, cost, and velocity in a cloud environment
