Position Summary
We are seeking motivated, highly technical and customer-centric Customer Engineer - AppSec to join our Customer Success team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in implementing and integrating Harness platform and AppSec modules and providing expert technical guidance and best practices to help customers optimize their use and achieve maximum value from our platform.

About the role
β’ Provide hands-on technical guidance and consulting throughout the customer lifecycle, including platform configuration, integration support, and custom solution development.
β’ Troubleshoot complex technical issues, collaborate with engineering teams, and develop creative solutions to customer challenges.
β’ Understand customer requirements and architect solutions that align with their business objectives for a successful onboarding and implementation of the Harness platform.
β’ Assist customers in integrating Harness portfolio of application security and protection modules into their Security and DevSecOps workflows.
β’ Create and maintain technical documentation, including implementation and best practice guides.
β’ Build trusted relationships with customers, developing a solid understanding of their technical environments, workflows, and goals β while partnering with cross-functional team members on strategic account decisions.
β’ Educate and train customers to become champions of Harness.
β’ Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Harness platform and AppSec modules as well as general skillset across AI applications and security, DevOps, SecOps, application security, cloud architectures, networks and infrastructure disciplines and industry trends to effectively support, educate and advise customers.
β’ Assist in Harness Community and build out advanced technical knowledge base and reference materials
About you
β’ 4+ years of experience in a software/security engineering and architecture, consulting, technical account management, or technical support role, in the software or technology industry.
β’ 2+ years of experience with some multiple of the following solutions preferred:
β’ Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, CloudFormation, Linux
β’ Containers & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, OpenShift, PCF
β’ CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Harness Pipelines, Jira, ServiceNow.
β’ Languages & Scripting: Python, Bash, YAML, Go (a plus).
β’ Application Security: SAST, DAST, SCA, IAST, SBOM generation, API security testing, pen testing fundamentals, SIEM (Splunk, Datadog), SOAR platforms.
β’ Prior experience in security engineering and architecture, application security, API and AI security, development, DevOps, SecOps, or web security is preferred.
β’ Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies and solutions in the AI, DevOps, Cloud and Security space.
β’ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
β’ Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
β’ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and growth.
β’ Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering is preferred
