About the Role
The Financial Analyst plays a vital role in enabling the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) to reach thousands of educators annually with the highest-quality professional programs in education (PPE). This position is responsible for developing, projecting, and reporting on budgets and financial plans, representing $15 million in revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- βClosely monitor and analyze department operating results, prepare monthly reports and projections, forecast future financial scenarios, identify funding shortfalls, and recommend alternative spending plans.
- βServe as a partner to the Director of Finance and other department leadership in developing annual operating budgets and multi-year financial plans.
- βWork closely with Portfolio Directors and unit leaders to develop programsβ operating budgets, project financial outcomes, and analyze and evaluate financial results.
- βAnalyze and recommend pricing for open enrollment programs and evaluate custom program opportunities to recommend pricing.
- βManage the financials of custom programs including billing, collection, posting G/L transactions, and reporting.
- βCollaborate with Finance Manager and support financial operations as needed.
- βConduct analyses to respond to ad-hoc queries and strategic requests.
Requirements
- βStrong analytical and financial planning skills.
- βExperience with budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- βAbility to work closely with leadership and stakeholders.
- βKnowledge of financial operations including AR, AP, and reconciliations.
- βExperience with financial software and tools.
- βExcellent communication and presentation skills.
- βAbility to act with independent initiative and represent the Director of Finance as needed.
