About the Role

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to support database administration, management, and optimization across enterprise data environments.

Key Responsibilities

→Administer and maintain databases including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
→Manage a database administration team and coordinate database-related activities
→Work with database software to store, organize, and manage data effectively
→Apply expert knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL data stores across structures including JSON and XML
→Support distributed data processing technologies including Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
→Maintain database systems, perform updates, and troubleshoot database issues
→Support database design and development activities
→Manage database access controls and permissions
→Design and implement database maintenance procedures
→Liaise with programmers, applications and operational staff, IT project managers, and other technical stakeholders
→Manage database security, integrity, and backup procedures while implementing appropriate security measures
→Write reports, documentation, and operating manuals related to database systems
→Test and modify databases to ensure reliable performance and operation
→Develop disaster recovery plans and manage archiving and housekeeping of data
→Support cloud-based environments and serverless architecture where applicable
→Apply software design patterns appropriately within database solutions
→Work within Agile and DevOps software development environments
→Provide mentoring and guidance to team members where required
→Support operational and production support activities for database systems
→Contribute to data streaming or event-based environments where technologies such as Kafka are used
