About the Role
Inovalon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their team. This role involves working through complex tasks independently and adhering to software engineering principles to produce high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- →Write high quality, testable code that meets team commitments
- →Utilize a Test-First approach to software development
- →Participate in design and code reviews with other engineers
- →Create automated unit, system, and acceptance tests
- →Support and contribute to end of iteration demos
- →Responsible for integration, testing, and deployment tasks
- →Work with product management to scope and estimate product enhancements
- →Design, implement, and test software following defined processes
- →Fix software defects following defined process
- →Foster continuous team improvement
- →Write and maintain documentation for program development
- →Participate in the change management process
- →Adhere to confidentiality, HIPAA, and regulatory policies
- →Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies and procedures
- →Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues
Requirements
- ✓Minimum 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
- ✓3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
- ✓1 year of experience with software design and architecture
- ✓Advanced design/debugging/coding skills
- ✓Builds secure applications and adheres to security standards
- ✓Demonstrated high personal integrity
- ✓Exhibits a growth mindset and continuous personal development
- ✓Ability to anticipate and solve problems
- ✓Communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- ✓Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
- ✓Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science preferred
- ✓Physical Demands and Work Environment
- ✓Sedentary work (sitting for long periods of time)
- ✓Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
- ✓Subject to inside environmental conditions
- ✓Less than 10% travel locally for training purposes
