About the Role
Join IONOS, the leading European provider of cloud infrastructure and services, as a Site Reliability Engineer. You will work with a team of experts to develop and operate cutting-edge defense platforms that protect our hosting products and infrastructure from cyber security threats.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, develop, and fine-tune defense logic to mitigate complex DDoS attacks across network and application layers
- →Optimize and enhance pipelines for automated threat detection, mitigation, and reporting
- →Collaborate with system administrators to automate operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning
- →Develop and maintain APIs/interfaces for seamless integration of defense capabilities
- →Manage and troubleshoot high-availability defense infrastructure with on-call participation
Requirements
- ✓Degree in Computer Science or comparable background
- ✓Several years of experience in system-near development of highly available, scalable software
- ✓Experience with Go, C, Python, PHP, or Bash
- ✓Lua scripting experience, particularly with NGINX
- ✓Practical experience with NGINX as reverse proxy, load balancer, or WAF
- ✓Commitment to Infrastructure as Code and automation
- ✓Familiarity with advanced networking concepts (BGP, flowspec, anycast routing)
- ✓Excellent analytical skills for evaluating DDoS attacks and designing countermeasures
- ✓Fluent English communication; German language is a bonus
