About the Role
We are seeking a freelance industrial designer to work on the physical design of consumer hardware products, focusing on manufacturable designs for AI interface devices.
Key Responsibilities
- βContribute to industrial design for consumer hardware products, primarily the smart ring
- βDevelop form, structure, and detailed design solutions
- βWork closely with hardware engineers to balance aesthetics, structure, and manufacturability
- βSupport CMF (color, material, finish) exploration and decisions
- βIterate quickly based on feedback and constraints
- βDeliver production-ready design outputs (CAD, renders, manufacturing guidance)
- βCommunicate with factories or suppliers when needed to validate designs
Requirements
- βBackground in industrial design or a related field
- βExperience designing consumer electronics or small hardware products
- βUnderstanding of structure, materials, and basic manufacturing processes
- βAbility to work independently and iterate quickly
- βComfortable working as a freelance or project-based contributor
