About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our LUS (Lyft Urban Solutions) engineering team in Montreal. This role involves leading and mentoring a technical team while contributing to the planning and design of our engineering and production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- →Manage, mentor and lead a technical team
- →Structure and staff the team to provide growth opportunities and achieve business goals
- →Maintain a prioritized backlog and create short-term and long-term goals with engineers and stakeholders
- →Guide the team to deliver high-quality products and solutions
- →Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in code, architecture, and processes
- →Provide continuous feedback and address underperformance
- →Build collaborative, inclusive, and respectful teams
- →Work with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates
Requirements
- ✓Fluent in English and French, written and spoken
- ✓7+ years technical experience in infrastructure technologies
- ✓3+ years experience managing a team and guiding their career development
- ✓Experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution
- ✓Familiarity with Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering
- ✓Solid experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- ✓Experience supporting environments subject to compliance/security/privacy requirements
- ✓Ability to communicate effectively in various forms
