About the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team at Lyft Business. This role focuses on building the world’s best transportation solutions through data science and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead multiple Machine Learning and AI initiatives across Lyft Business
- →Design, develop, and deploy advanced ML models and optimization algorithms
- →Own the end-to-end lifecycle of complex modeling solutions
- →Partner with Engineering to build scalable, production-grade systems
- →Define model evaluation strategies and experimentation plans
- →Improve model performance across latency, accuracy, stability, and cost
- →Build and maintain high-quality codebases for models and training pipelines
- →Drive algorithmic innovation in ML, optimization, and causal inference
- →Mentor junior and mid-level applied scientists and data scientists
- →Contribute to Lyft’s broader Science community
Requirements
- ✓Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience
- ✓5+ years of industry experience with machine learning models and algorithms
- ✓Deep expertise in supervised/unsupervised learning, optimization, and probabilistic modeling
- ✓Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks
- ✓Experience building production-grade ML systems
- ✓Ability to define experiment design and success criteria
- ✓Strong communication and influence skills
- ✓Experience mentoring others and contributing to ML best practices
- ✓Proven track record of delivering high-quality algorithmic solutions
