About the Role
The Recs Seoul team is part of Tinderβs global engineering organization responsible for our Recommendation System. We are looking for a Full-stack Engineer to develop both the backend systems of the Tinder recommendation engine and the frontend tools to operate them.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign and implement high-performance recommendation engines and API services based on Java
- βPerform improvement tasks to optimize performance, stability, and cost for large-scale distributed systems
- βOptimize the performance of core systems such as recommendation ranking and queue management
- βBuild web-based operations platforms that enable global teams to manage complex recommendation parameters
- βImprove web-based tools to accelerate experimentation speed and operational efficiency
- βCollaborate with global engineers, PMs, designers, and data scientists to develop user-centric products
Requirements
- β3+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack development
- βExperience building web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript
- βExperience with at least one backend language/framework such as Java, Kotlin, or Node.js
- βExperience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- βSolid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems
- βConstructive and respectful communication skills during code reviews and collaboration
- βExperience proactively defining and solving problems
- βComfortable with English reading and writing, with a willingness to continuously improve English speaking skills
