About the Role
Mercor is seeking its first IT Operations Lead to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of identity, endpoint, and IT infrastructure systems. This role will partner with the Head of IT to transform reactive support into strategic, automated systems that prevent issues before they occur.
Key Responsibilities
- →Handle day-to-day operations and incident response
- →Triage and resolve Tier 2/3 tickets with automation focus
- →Manage and troubleshoot Apple devices at scale
- →Trace root causes across complex system failures
- →Analyze downstream impacts before making changes
- →Build and maintain runbooks and knowledge base articles
- →Lead small projects addressing operational pain points
- →Translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
- →Mentor future IT team members
- →Participate in on-call rotation
Requirements
- ✓5–7 years in IT Operations or Technical Support roles
- ✓Experience supporting technical teams in SaaS, cloud, or AI/ML environments
- ✓Systems thinking with dependency tracing and second-order effects
- ✓Strong incident management skills
- ✓Understanding of compliance controls
- ✓Clear communication with excellent documentation skills
- ✓Self-directed with strong judgment
- ✓Creative, systematic troubleshooting
- ✓Thorough documentation of solutions
- ✓Builds trust through technical competence
