About the Role
Monks is hiring for a Senior Art Director.
Weβre looking for someone to take the lead visual craft, creative expression and executional excellence of ideas across campaigns, content and brand experiences. This role is for someone who combines strong conceptual thinking and ideation with exceptional design sensibility and a sharp eye for detail.
As a Senior Art Director, you will shape powerful visual narratives across multiple channels, from social and digital to film, experiential, print, and integrated brand campaigns. You will work closely with the Executive Creative Director, Copywriters, Designers, Strategists and Account Team to develop ideas that are not only visually compelling, but strategically sharp and culturally relevant.
You should be someone who can think big idea, execute beautifully, guide junior creatives, and confidently present ideas to both internal teams and clients.
Responsibilities
β’ Lead the visual development of creative concepts from ideation through to final execution.
β’ Create strong, original, and strategically grounded ideas for integrated campaigns, brand platforms, social content, film, digital, and experiential work.
β’ Partner closely with copywriters, creative directors, strategists, and account teams to build compelling creative solutions.
β’ Translate briefs into high-quality visual territories, storyboards, layouts, mock-ups, and presentation-ready creative work.
β’ Ensure a high level of craft, consistency, and attention to detail across all creative outputs.
β’ Present creative thinking and visual rationale clearly and persuasively to internal stakeholders and clients.
β’ Guide and mentor junior designers and art directors, helping elevate the overall creative standard of the team.
β’ Work collaboratively with production, design, motion, editors, photographers, illustrators, and external partners to bring ideas to life.
β’ Stay current with design trends, cultural movements, technology, and platform behaviors to keep work fresh, relevant, and forward-looking.
β’ Contribute proactively to the creative culture of the team through references, inspiration, and a passion for great work.
β’ Manage multiple projects and timelines effectively while maintaining creative quality under pressure.
β’ Ensure all work aligns with brand guidelines while still pushing for creative distinction and innovation.
β’ Partner with Executive Creative Director and Creative Directors.
About You
The Essentials:
β’ At least 7 years of high-level experience as a senior designer or art director, crafting digital ads and assets.
β’ A slick portfolio showcasing your mastery of Photoshop.
β’ Strong English communication skills for working with clients and teams across global markets.
β’ Experience managing the full design process: from conceptualizing ideas to finalizing layouts and adapting designs for various markets and formats.
β’ Expertise in creating balanced, visually appealing layouts.
β’ Knowledge of templating and process optimization to streamline production.
β’ Deep understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, interaction design, flow, and storytelling.
β’ Ability to present and sell your designs to both clients and internal teams.
β’ Ideally, youβve had some experience in client-facing presentations.
Not a must, but a plus:
β’ Proficiency in Figma.
β’ Experience with printing and Out-of-Home (OOH/DOOH) design.
