About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead and contribute to the development of Nautilus’s web applications and services. This role will own the customer-facing web application and support our internal web application used by R&D scientists.

Key Responsibilities

→Own the development, delivery, and operational excellence of Nautilus’s web applications
→Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers
→Remain hands-on with development, contributing production code across the stack
→Partner with Product Management and scientific stakeholders to translate needs into software solutions
→Design and evolve modern web architectures using React/TypeScript frontends and Python/FastAPI backends
→Oversee development of secure, well-documented APIs and web services
→Ensure best practices in software engineering
→Collaborate with other teams on cloud architecture and deployment strategies
→Contribute to roadmap planning and execution

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
✓10+ years of experience building complex software systems
✓Prior experience leading or managing software engineers
✓Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Python, RESTful API design
✓Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS based architectures
✓Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure web application design
✓Proven ability to deliver customer-facing software with high reliability and usability
✓Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders
✓Track record of making teams better through technical and people leadership
