About the Role
We are looking for a Senior User Researcher for a 6-month fixed-term contract to work on one of our projects. This role requires immediate start and involves planning, facilitating, and leading user research activities on various projects.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead and direct projects, working with multidisciplinary teams and clients to achieve inclusive, accessible, and effective research outcomes
- →Define and refine practices, helping to shape how disciplines work together and improve the way the NEC Digital Studio delivers design
- →Champion our values: care passionately, be fluent in people, believe in your craft, push convention, be open to change, and value each other
- →Work with a broad range of clients, some of whom are new to user-centred design (UCD), and champion our UCD approach
- →Support weekly meet-ups where User Researchers share work, discuss implications, and learn about methods
- →Broaden skills by working closely with Digital teams, including interaction and content designers, and developers
- →Receive support from more senior members of the User Research team for wellbeing, goal setting, and feedback
Requirements
- ✓Significant experience in delivering user research projects
- ✓Ability to plan, facilitate, and lead user research activities
- ✓Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
- ✓Autonomy and project management skills
- ✓Understanding of user-centred design (UCD) principles
- ✓Ability to champion UCD approach to clients new to the concept
- ✓Experience working with central and local government, NHS, voluntary, not-for-profit, and private sector organisations
- ✓Willingness to move between different sectors to gain variety of experiences
- ✓Ability to collaborate with interaction and content designers, and developers
- ✓Openness to feedback and continuous learning
