About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Order Engineering team at Olo. This is a technical leadership role where you will shape the organization's technical vision, mentor engineers, and oversee the design of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own the architecture and technology vision across multiple teams and domains
- →Act as a senior technical advisor, mentoring staff engineers and tech leads
- →Lead the design and implementation of critical and complex systems
- →Partner with senior leadership and product managers to define technical roadmaps
- →Oversee system integration and interoperability across the organization
- →Play a key role in incident management and system reliability improvements
- →Champion best practices and modern technologies
- →Lead cross-functional, large-scale technical projects
- →Represent the engineering organization in technical discussions with external partners
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- ✓15+ years of experience in software engineering with deep expertise in the .Net stack
- ✓System Architecture Mastery: Deep expertise in designing large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- ✓Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Leadership: Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD practices
- ✓Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to mentor engineers at all levels
- ✓Strategic Influence & Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- ✓Innovation & Technology Assessment: Skilled in evaluating emerging technologies and practices
