About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Palmetto, a leading clean tech company focused on accelerating the transition to clean energy. In this role, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop and maintain APIs and data applications for photovoltaic yield estimation and whole-home energy modeling.

Key Responsibilities

→Build and maintain scalable software systems that drive energy modeling processes
→Collaborate with data scientists to integrate prototype models and algorithms into production systems
→Package and containerize applications for deployment-ready status
→Monitor deployments and ensure smooth operation of software in production
→Build and optimize data pipelines for efficient access to large datasets
→Contribute to code review processes and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

✓Advanced proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming languages
✓Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud computing platforms
✓Experience designing and building APIs with understanding of RESTful principles
✓Knowledge of software engineering best practices including version control, code review, and testing
✓Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment
✓Experience with Python web frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask
✓Experience with other web application frameworks
✓Strong quantitative background with algorithmic thinking
✓Knowledge of Python's data science stack
✓Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and tooling
✓Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases
✓Experience working in the clean energy space or with home energy data
