About the Role
We are looking for a Vice President of Software Engineering to join our engineering leadership team at PAR Technology Corporation. This role will oversee software engineering operations across our Punchh loyalty product, building a culture of software engineering excellence and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- →Set and drive the overarching strategy and approach for software engineering
- →Improve product quality, product economics, and team productivity
- →Ensure we meet our R&D financial objectives
- →Build and drive the Punchh Engineering strategy and approach
- →Own the Punchh Engineering P&L
- →Drive recruitment and onboarding efforts
- →Manage organizational design, career development, and performance management
- →Drive a culture of continuous improvements to efficiency and quality
- →Ensure efficient communication between groups and individuals
- →Drive the identification and adoption of industry best practices
- →Manage projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
- →Enforce that technical designs are consistently produced and vetted
- →Maintain a high degree of confidentiality concerning PAR’s and customer’s information.
Requirements
- ✓Minimum of ten years of experience leading software engineering projects and teams
- ✓Minimum of fifteen years of software engineering experience with hands-on technical skills
- ✓Proven ability to effectively manage and lead a multi-location software engineering team
- ✓Proven record of leveraging agile software engineering principles and practices
- ✓Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, managing, coaching, and retaining world-class software engineers
- ✓Ability to influence and achieve alignment across different opinions and interests
- ✓Comfortable giving/receiving critical feedback
- ✓Impartially and aggressively address conflicts and tough decisions
- ✓Seek out, embrace, and evangelize positive change
- ✓Able to concurrently execute short-term and long-term plans
- ✓Capable of communicating effectively in both technical and non-technical conversations
- ✓Shared passion for both the technical and business aspects of software
- ✓Strong analysis skills and the ability to synthesize multiple perspectives
- ✓Superior organizational and time management skills and an affinity for detail.
