About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team in Prague. In this role, you’ll create high-quality documentation for our products, including BlazeMeter. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse technologies and collaborate with a global team of writers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop user information products and collateral to communicate product information to customers
- →Create plans to meet project deadlines and coordinate publishing and distribution
- →Respond to feedback from internal and external customers and make relevant improvements
- →Gain a solid understanding of products through hands-on experience and participation in development meetings
- →Work closely with product management, engineering, support, and other teams
- →Review UX designs and provide input on text strings and messages in the product UI
- →Assess user requirements and identify ways to improve product usability
- →Contribute to information development strategies and strategic initiatives
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of technical writing experience in a software development environment
- ✓Degree in arts/humanities or college diploma in Technical/Professional Writing or equivalent
- ✓Proven technical writing skills for user, installation, admin, and command line documentation
- ✓Exceptional written English skills to break down complex concepts
- ✓Ability to learn complex software applications quickly and work under tight deadlines
- ✓Effective communication with diverse teams across multiple time zones
- ✓Experience with MadCap Flare preferred
- ✓Experience with image editing software such as SnagIt
- ✓Working knowledge of source control systems (Helix Core, Git, etc.)
- ✓Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
- ✓Experience working with code samples
- ✓Experience with an agile development process preferred
- ✓Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira preferred
- ✓Experience with instructional design and learning management systems an asset
- ✓Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration tasks an asset
- ✓Proactive, problem-solving attitude and a strong desire to make a difference
