About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join the Treasury Management team at Pleo. You will help set technical direction and deliver resilient backend systems that help customers optimize liquidity, forecast cash flow, and automate treasury processes.
Key Responsibilities
- →Drive initiatives to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services
- →Own and evolve service architecture, APIs, and data models in a financial domain
- →Build and maintain integrations with external providers that enable treasury capabilities
- →Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes
- →Set technical direction for key parts of the Treasury backend
- →Analyze system performance and implement improvements
- →Raise our engineering bar for correctness through strong engineering practices
- →Support other engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance
- →Contribute hands-on in code
Requirements
- ✓Solid experience with designing and maintaining backend systems
- ✓Observability and owning systems in production
- ✓Distributed systems fundamentals
- ✓API design and integrating with external systems
- ✓Data modeling and evolving schemas safely
- ✓Strong testing practices and a high quality mindset
- ✓Clear communication and pragmatic decision-making
