About the Role
The Software Engineer (UI/UX) is a hands-on front-end developer responsible for designing, prototyping, and building intuitive interfaces that improve laboratory workflows and end-user efficiency across Precision for Medicineβs Translational Sciences applications. This role is central to shaping new features and functionality, enhancing existing processes, and adapting user experiences as workflows evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- βBuild and enhance user interfaces across Precision LIMS, Lab ePortal, Logistics ControlTower, and related applications
- βDevelop rapid prototypes using Figma, Figma Make, and other AI-assisted prototyping tools
- βImplement clean, responsive, accessible, and maintainable front-end code
- βTranslate wireframes and prototypes into high-quality functional components
- βEnsure consistency across applications by following established design patterns
- βLeverage AI-driven prototyping tools to generate interface concepts and iterate based on feedback
- βAdminister and optimize third-party UI components like Handsontable
- βConduct UI testing, usability validation, and accessibility reviews
- βProvide documentation for UI workflows and design decisions
Requirements
- βBachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, User Experience Design, or related field
- β3-6+ years of professional front-end or full-stack development experience
- βExperience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular)
- βDemonstrated ability to create interactive prototypes using Figma/Figma Make
- βExperience collaborating with Business Analysts and stakeholders
- βFamiliarity with Git-based source control
- βExperience in life sciences, healthcare, or regulated environments is beneficial
- βExposure to Computer Systems Validation (CSV) or 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus
- βExperience with AI-powered design and engineering tools
