Position Summary:
The Director, HR Operations & Total Rewards is responsible for leading the firmβs HR operations, including compensation, benefits, payroll, employee relations, compliance, HR systems, and reporting. This role also leads the team supporting these activities and ensures that HR services are delivered accurately, consistently, and efficiently.
As part of a small, high-performing HR team, this role requires a hands-on approach and full ownership of HR systems and data. The position serves as a key advisor to leadership while helping build a more scalable, disciplined, and best-in-class HR function.
What Youβll Be Responsible For[1]:
β’ Lead day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job changes, promotions, and terminations, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and with a high level of attention to detail.
β’ Step in to support execution during peak periods or complex situations and maintain strong data integrity and confidentiality across all HR systems.
β’ Own and manage HR systems, including Paylocity and Greenhouse (ATS), ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, and proper configuration across all HR processes.
β’ Develop and deliver HR reporting and analytics, including headcount, compensation, and turnover, and build and manage complex spreadsheets and data models to support compensation, reporting, and decision-making. Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting capabilities, and system utilization.
β’ Oversee compensation programs, including salary, bonus, and incentive structures, and partner with Recruiting and leadership on leveling, offer structuring, and compensation decisions.
β’ Apply market data and support benchmarking efforts, including McLagan, and support long-term incentive programs. Ensure compensation practices are consistent, competitive, and aligned with business needs.
β’ Own benefits administration, including renewals and open enrollment, manage vendor relationships, and resolve issues as they arise.
β’ Actively manage 401(k) administration, including compliance, audits, and filings, and evaluate and improve benefits programs over time.
β’ Responsible for payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, appropriate controls, and audit readiness.
β’ Serve as a senior advisor on employee relations matters, including complex and sensitive situations, and partner with Legal to manage risk and ensure appropriate documentation.
β’ Provide practical, balanced guidance to managers, ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook, and support audits, filings, and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring:
β’ 10+ years of HR experience with exposure to HR operations, compensation, and employee relations. Bachelorβs degree preferred.
β’ Hands-on experience managing HR systems (e.g., Paylocity, Greenhouse, or similar platforms).
β’ Strong analytical skills and comfort working with complex spreadsheets and data.
β’ High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
β’ Experience with payroll processes, HR reporting, and benefits administration (including 401(k) plans).
β’ Demonstrated ability to improve processes and operate effectively in a lean environment.
β’ Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive and complex situations.
β’ Willingness to be hands-on and operate across both strategic and operational work.
The compensation for this position includes salary and incentive pay. The annual base salary range for this role is $195,000β$250,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation. Total compensation may vary based on experience, role, location, department, and individual performance.
