The Role
Weβre growing our product management team and are seeking a Product Manager to help us achieve our long-term vision and growth.
As a Product Manager, youβll own outcomes for a product area, working as part of a product trio alongside a Tech Lead and Designer. Youβll translate product strategy into shipped work that moves key metrics β win rates, time-to-value, retention β not just features. Youβll spend your time understanding customer problems, shaping what to build next, and making sure what ships lands with our customers.
Our products serve database professionals across every industry, from financial services and healthcare to retail and SaaS. You'll need to get curious about this domain and be able to talk credibly about the problems our customers face, even if you're learning as you go.
Achieving work-life balance has never been more important and so Redgate has adopted a flexible-hybrid model. Most product managers are in the office one or two days a week, with teams deciding the cadence that works best for them. For this role, we're looking for candidates within commuting distance of our Cambridge, UK office.
Your Work at Redgate Software
- Execute on product strategy for your area, breaking it down into focused bets that drive measurable commercial outcomes.
- Partner with your Tech Lead and Designer as a product trio to deliver a high-quality, sustainable product roadmap.
- Take ownership of customer outcomes and key metrics. Evaluate the impact of product changes on customers (e.g. value, time-to-value, active usage, NPS) and respond with agility.
- Work directly with agile engineering teams, leading discovery and shaping delivery β not just writing tickets.
- Partner with Product Marketing on positioning, pricing, packaging and go-to-market plans.
- Drive customer engagement through research, calls, and direct interaction to ensure the product solves real problems.
- Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure products provide complementary value across the portfolio.
- Work as part of the product management team to support portfolio-level decisions and flow of information across the company.
- Stay up to date with relevant market requirements, our competitors, and the evolving role of our target customers.
What You Bring to the Table
- 2β3+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, with evidence of shipping work that moved strategic metrics β not just delivering features on time.
- Experience executing on product strategy: youβve taken a strategic direction and turned it into concrete product bets, experiments, and shipped outcomes.
- Hands-on experience working directly with engineering and design teams in a lean-agile environment, shaping what to build as well as how to deliver it.
- Customer and commercially minded. You start with the customer problem and connect it to business outcomes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure the impact of what you ship.
- Excellent communication skills β able to explain complex needs clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Enthusiastic and confident when talking to customers, able to ask the right questions and translate what you hear into product direction.
- A high degree of customer empathy and genuine curiosity about how technical teams work.
Who You Are
- A self-starter who takes ownership and exercises sound judgement β you donβt wait to be told what to do.
- Interested in Redgateβs domain β databases, developer tools, compliance, DevOps. Deep domain expertise isnβt required, but genuine curiosity is.
- You think in outcomes, not outputs. You care about whether what you shipped worked, not just that it shipped.
- Aligned with Redgateβs Core Values.
Tools
To name a few:
- Like the rest of Redgate, much of our day-to-day collaboration relies on tools like Slack, Zoom, Mural, Office 365.
- Product managers also routinely use (among other tools) GitHub, Confluence, UserVoice, SurveyMonkey, Salesforce, Zendesk, PowerBI.
Impact Plan
- 30 Days β Focus on understanding the team, product, customers, and your role.
- 60 Days β Begin taking responsibility for steering the direction of the team and product area you work with.
- 90 Days β Up and running in your role and team!
Salary
Β£70,000 - Β£80,000 dependent upon experience.
