About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our UI Tech team at Riot Games. This role involves leading a team of engineers responsible for all aspects of the VALORANT UI, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful UI experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- →Manage a team of 5-10 engineers across experience levels, providing regular feedback and performance management.
- →Develop and communicate the technical vision for your team, working with design, production, and game leadership to ensure consistency with product goals.
- →Ensure players have a consistently high-quality UI experience throughout the client.
- →Advocate for players, your team, and internal development customers when deciding what to build and why.
- →Foster a collaborative, challenging, and satisfying environment for your development team.
- →Provide technical oversight by reviewing technical designs and enforcing best practices and architectural standards.
- →Resolve conflicts, remove obstacles, and respond to emergent issues.
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience as a hands-on Software Engineer
- ✓2+ years experience directly leading an engineering team either as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead & mentor.
- ✓Professional experience building and shipping UI/UX features in games or player-facing systems.
- ✓Experience reading, writing, and reviewing C++
- ✓Experience working in large, complex codebases
- ✓Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
