About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to join Team Automat at SEEK. This role involves providing senior technical leadership in designing, evolving, and operating Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure, focusing on improving developer experience through shared platform solutions and scalable engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the architecture, development, and optimization of SEEK’s Kubernetes-based internal platform
- →Design and build developer-facing tools and automation, including a central CLI, to improve deployment, observability, security, and workflows
- →Act as a developer advocate, partnering with engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver platform capabilities
- →Ensure platform reliability, security, performance, and observability, driving continuous improvement
- →Set and champion platform standards, best practices, and modern engineering patterns
- →Lead, mentor, and coach engineers in a small, high-impact team
Requirements
- ✓Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and modern software engineering practices
- ✓Experience with Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Istio, Argo CD, Buildkite, PagerDuty, and Datadog
- ✓Strong foundation in developer tooling, automation, and observability
- ✓Passion for mentoring and improving developer experience
- ✓Ability to define platform strategy and build tools that enhance developer workflows
