About the role
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, owning, and continuously improving quality standards across onboarding, delivery, and product development. This is a senior, high-impact role where you will shape how quality is embedded into every phase of the development lifecycle, supporting a global RegTech platform used by financial institutions worldwide.
You will act as the quality authority across the business, influencing strategy, tooling, and ways of working, while ensuring every client onboarding and release meets world-class quality expectations.
Responsibilities
β’ Define and own QA standards, scope, and quality benchmarks across all teams.
β’ Establish scalable QA processes that support rapid growth and complex regulatory requirements.
β’ Drive continuous improvement of QA practices, automation strategy, and documentation.
β’ Act as the quality champion across engineering, onboarding, and delivery functions.
β’ Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams to adopt quality-first approaches.
β’ Own quality assurance for client onboarding across multiple platforms and configurations.
β’ Validate real-world onboarding scenarios to ensure systems behave correctly in production-like environments.
β’ Design and build BDD automation frameworks using Playwright, Cucumber, and Page Object Model (POM) principles.
β’ Implement automation using Java, Maven, and Gherkin.
β’ Create reusable page objects, step definitions, selectors, and validation layers.
β’ Perform functional, regression, UI, backend, and end-to-end testing.
β’ Execute both manual and automated test cases with a high level of precision.
β’ Design and execute API tests using Postman and REST Assured.
β’ Perform database validation using SQL and JDBC across PostgreSQL and Oracle.
β’ Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Onboarding teams to ensure seamless delivery.
β’ Track defects, progress, and test execution using Jira and version control tools.
β’ Ensure all delivered software is secure, scalable, maintainable, and meets acceptance criteria.
Requirements
β’ Strong experience designing and owning BDD automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM).
β’ Hands-on experience with Playwright.
β’ Proven experience building automation projects using Java and Maven.
β’ Solid understanding of Cucumber, Gherkin, and reusable test design.
β’ UI automation experience using Selenium WebDriver.
β’ Broad testing experience across functional, regression, UI, backend, and end-to-end testing.
β’ API testing experience using Postman and REST Assured.
β’ Database testing and validation using SQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
β’ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Senior-level mindset with the confidence to define standards, challenge assumptions, and influence delivery outcomes.
Nice to have
β’ Experience defining QA strategy or standards in regulated environments such as RegTech, FinTech, or financial services.
β’ Exposure to performance or security testing within complex enterprise platforms.
β’ Experience scaling QA practices across multiple teams or products.
β’ Background mentoring engineers or teams on testing and quality best practices.
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows.
