About the Role

We are looking for a Freelance Curator to curate, produce, and promote live events to build a strong and vibrant Sofar community in your city. This role involves mapping out strategy, producing exceptional events, executing local marketing initiatives, selling sponsorships, and expanding Sofar's footprint with a flexible schedule that likely includes weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

→Strengthen Sofar's brand in your local community through self-directed marketing tactics
→Create and execute a vision for monthly shows, neighborhoods, and show themes
→Lead curation and booking for experiences with high-quality, diverse artists and venues
→Own staffing and quality of shows to ensure magical, hospitality-rooted experiences
→Manage your city's financial performance to ensure event success and health
→Build relationships with local businesses to drive sponsorship and private event sales
→Identify and build relationships with like-minded organizations to build community and co-promote shows
→Collaborate with other local leaders to grow your city through diverse experiences
→Support Business Partnerships and Global Communities teams with high-quality curation and event operations

Requirements

✓Deep connections to your local scene and active role in building community
✓3-5 years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions
✓Experience selling event sponsorships or marketing activations in live events or experiential marketing
✓Confidence pitching ideas and track record of closing partnership deals
✓Strong pulse on your city, neighborhoods, and where people spend free time
✓Natural connector skilled at building relationships with diverse organizations and businesses
✓Understanding of how to promote and build strategic alliances to sell more tickets
✓Professional approach with ownership and pride in work for artists, venues, partners, and guests
✓Exceptional time management skills and clear communication
✓Ability to work autonomously while staying connected to the broader organization
