Over the past two years SoFiβs product growth has increased significantly; and with it comes an increased need to refine and grow our logged-in navigation sophistication. This role will support creating solutions to tame that growing complexity to make finding what you need feel effortless and intuitive, across a broad suite of products and features. It involves not just exercising strong interaction design skills, but also visual design skills and even social skills as you connect with other teams to learn the needs of their own products and incorporate the right solutions into how members access and use those products.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design product features and improvements from start-to-finish across mobile and web platforms
β’ Partner with product, content design, data science, engineering, and research to create well-articulated experiment plans and shape the product roadmap
β’ Incorporate data insights and user research to develop solutions that delight our customers
β’ Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
β’ Work closely with your design manager, product leads, and cross-functional partners to quickly iterate based on feedback and industry best practices (across finance and tech)
β’ Present design concepts and clearly communicate design intent through design specs and presentations
β’ Work with established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability while contributing to their evolution as product experiences change and grow
β’ Effectively incorporate the needs of both members and partner teams into your solutions through a growing maturity in interaction design, visual design and cross-team collaboration skills
Required Experience
β’ 3+ years of experience working in product design/UX roles or an equivalent degree in a related field
β’ Excellent portfolio that demonstrates love and care for your craft, evidence of business impact, and experience with experimentation for learning
β’ Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting constraints
β’ Proficient skills in Figma and familiarity with other design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite
β’ Strong product sensitivity and strong design point of view
β’ Positive and resilient attitude embracing input with a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
β’ Knowledge of mobile and web UX best practices across iOS, Android and responsive web
β’ Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering and marketing
β’ Ability to understand user research, user needs and product data as input into design solutions
β’ Skills in clearly presenting work and rationale while advocating for user needs
β’ A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with the application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design
Preferred Experience
β’ Experience working on financial products
β’ Experience working on multi-phased, long-term initiatives
β’ Experience with responsive web applications
β’ Particular strength in interaction design with experience creating across multi-product needs
