About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to join Standard Bot's Systems Group. This role involves designing and maintaining embedded firmware for real-time motor control, sensing, and system monitoring in a fast-growing robotics company.
Key Responsibilities
- βDesign, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for real-time motor control, sensing, and system monitoring
- βDebug complex system-level issues spanning software, firmware, hardware, or component behavior
- βUse hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs to diagnose timing, signaling, and electrical issues
- βAct as a technical bridge between hardware and software, collaborating with EEs, controls, motion planning, and systems engineers
- βAdvise leadership on technical decisions and strategy
- βMentor and advise other engineers on technical and personal advancement
- βDrive technical decision making through hands-on and technically deep work
Requirements
- β5+ years of experience in complex technical environments
- βStrong technical background in embedded systems
- βExperience with MCUs (STM32), C/C++, and RTOS (FreeRTOS)
- βAbility to work at the boundary between hardware and software
- βExcellent written and verbal communication skills
- βProactive approach to simplicity, reliability, and velocity
- βExperience in dynamic and ambitious environments
