About the Role
The Newsroom Content Editor acts as the editorial quality owner for TechnologyAdvice's tech and AI news coverage. This role involves publishing content across digital media properties, editing content to meet standards, and contributing to editorial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- →Perform all levels of editing including developmental, fact-checking, and copy editing
- →Provide written edits and feedback to writers
- →Edit articles to meet newsroom standards and succeed with Google Discover and Google News algorithms
- →Write new articles as needed
- →Ensure published content aligns with site’s audience, mission, and vision
- →Evaluate story quality to identify improvement areas
- →Pitch article ideas and content updates
- →Contribute to editorial content planning
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams on content initiatives
Requirements
- ✓Five years of experience writing and editing news, preferably in B2B space or technology newsroom
- ✓Familiarity with technology products and vendors
- ✓Experience with generative AI tools for writing and editing
- ✓Portfolio demonstrating writing and editing proficiency
- ✓Degree in Journalism, English, Technical Writing, Publishing, or related field preferred
- ✓Superior copyediting and proofreading abilities
- ✓Strong interpersonal skills
- ✓Research skills and problem-solving abilities
- ✓Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- ✓Knowledge of Google News and Google Discover platforms
- ✓Working laptop/PC with internet and backup connection
