About the Role
We are seeking a Privacy Governance Manager to join our legal & compliance team. This role involves managing privacy governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and other relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Take ownership of all aspects of our privacy function, managing UW’s privacy governance framework
- →Work with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with data privacy laws
- →Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection queries and liaison with regulatory authorities
- →Act as a standing member of the Information Security and Privacy Committee (ISPC)
- →Review vendor contracts and third-party data processing arrangements
- →Coordinate and conduct data privacy audits
- →Manage, train, and develop a team of privacy and data protection specialists
- →Ensure filing and fee requirements with local Data Protection Authorities are achieved
- →Develop and deliver privacy training to various business functions
- →Collaborate with Information Security to maintain records of data assets and manage incident response plans
- →Oversee responses to data subject rights requests
Requirements
- ✓Expertise in privacy governance and compliance with UK GDPR
- ✓Experience managing privacy frameworks and advising on data protection matters
- ✓Strong understanding of data mapping, records of processing, and privacy impact assessments
- ✓Ability to serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
- ✓Experience with vendor management reviews and contract reviews
- ✓Knowledge of data subject rights and incident response procedures
- ✓Leadership experience managing privacy and data protection teams
- ✓Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
