About the Role
Varo is seeking a Lead Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of consumer lending products. This role involves owning the full product lifecycle and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital lending experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- βOwn Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and champion the strategy and roadmap for key consumer lending products, aligning with company goals and risk appetite
- βDrive Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from requirements gathering and prioritization to launch and post-launch optimization
- βLeverage Insights: Conduct market research and customer analysis to identify opportunities and inform product improvements
- βEnsure Performance & Compliance: Define KPIs, monitor product performance, and integrate robust risk management and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle
- βCollaborate Cross-functionally: Serve as the central point of contact for Engineering, Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure seamless product delivery
- βFoster Innovation: Identify new features, design experiments (A/B testing), and leverage technology to enhance underwriting and customer experience
Requirements
- β8-10+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in consumer lending or FinTech
- βProven success in launching and growing digital lending products
- βDeep understanding of the consumer lending lifecycle, credit risk principles, and risk analytics
- βExperience working with engineering and data teams in an agile environment
- βStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- βBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- βPreferred: Experience with cash flow underwriting, alternative data, modern loan management systems, regulatory compliance (Reg Z, Reg E, UDAAP), and A/B testing
