About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Leader to join Vay, a company revolutionizing urban mobility with remote driving technology. This role involves owning the strategy, architecture, and reliability of internal platforms that power 24/7 operations and geo capabilities for vehicle navigation.
Key Responsibilities
- →Set the technical direction for Operations Software suite and geo/routing stack
- →Lead multiple engineering teams across web, mobile, backend, and integrations
- →Design and build mission-critical systems with high availability and robust security
- →Integrate vehicle telematics, edge gateways, and connectivity layers into scalable cloud services
- →Partner with Data Science and Safety Engineering to shape ODD design and real-time routing
- →Collaborate with product engineering teams to optimize consumer ETAs and dispatch performance
- →Drive operator-loved UX by reducing manual touches and automating workflows
- →Operationalize reliability through SLOs/SLIs, observability, and structured post-mortems
Requirements
- ✓10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading teams
- ✓Deep experience in cloud-native architectures and modern web/mobile stacks
- ✓Proven track record integrating software with hardware or IoT systems
- ✓Strong foundation in reliability engineering and security best practices
- ✓Experience building internal tools that operators genuinely adopt
- ✓Strong cross-functional leadership across Product, Operations, and Data
- ✓Experience integrating with telematics/fleet systems, CRM/ticketing tools, and data platforms
