About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Designer to own the "source of truth" for our digital language at Verkada. This role will bridge the gap between UX designers and frontend engineering teams, ensuring a cohesive, accessible, and polished hardware-software interface.
Key Responsibilities
- →Define and maintain the core Figma component library, tokens, and documentation.
- →Create scalable systems that work across responsive web, mobile, and specialized hardware interfaces.
- →Establish the process for how new components are proposed, vetted, and integrated by the broader UX team.
- →Act as a bridge between Design and Engineering to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and technical feasibility.
- →Build, test interactive components and prototypes, and support cross-product experiences.
Requirements
- ✓7+ years of experience in Product Design, with 4+ years dedicated to Design Systems.
- ✓Expert-level Figma proficiency (Auto-layout, Variables, Prototyping).
- ✓Deep understanding of frontend development technologies and accessibility (WCAG) standards.
- ✓Experience coordinating between Figma and Storybook or similar tools.
- ✓A portfolio demonstrating polished visual design and a systemic way of thinking.
- ✓Technical/UX writing skills, including naming conventions in a system context.
- ✓Ability to speak expertly about interaction, visual, motion, writing, and other design layers.
