About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Observability team at Wise. The team's goal is to empower teams within Wise to move fast and resolve issues by providing observability tools. In this role, you'll own the centralized observability configuration used by hundreds of product services, ensuring a standardized experience for every engineer at Wise.
Key Responsibilities
- →Own the centralized observability configuration (otel) used by hundreds of product services at Wise to ensure standardized and reliable telemetry.
- →Contribute to evolve our observability tooling, built on open-source projects like Grafana and Elasticsearch.
- →Collaborate with engineering teams across Wise to improve their observability experience.
- →Manage the configuration of a vast observability estate covering metrics, logs, traces, alerts and profiling.
Requirements
- ✓Software engineering experience in Java, Go, or Python, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
- ✓Experience with observability tools like the LGTM or ELK stack.
- ✓Understanding of application instrumentation (OpenTelemetry).
- ✓Understanding of microservices and distributed environments.
- ✓Understanding of availability and high-scale infrastructure support.
- ✓Growth mindset with enthusiasm for building tools that other developers love to use.
