About the Role We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester with strong expertise in Python, PyTest, SQL, Databricks, and CI/CD automation for a remote contract opportunity. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Python and Pytest • Validate SQL-to-Databricks data migrations, transformations, schemas, row counts, and business rules • Write complex SQL queries to validate ETL/ELT pipelines, Delta Lake tables, and reporting data • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions • Manage test cases, test plans, and defect tracking using qTest • Use GitHub Copilot and Databricks Genie to accelerate test creation and troubleshooting • Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and product owners to define test strategies and release readiness • Perform root-cause analysis, track defects, review automation code, and mentor junior testers Requirements • 10+ years of QA/Test Automation experience, including 5+ years in a senior or lead role • Strong hands-on experience with Python and Pytest for API and data testing • Expert-level SQL skills and hands-on Databricks data validation experience • Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale data migrations • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines • Experience with qTest or a similar test management tool • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and Databricks Genie • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, and defect lifecycle • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
